All visitors require a passport valid for no less than 30 days after the expiry of the intended visit. Travellers must ensure that their passports contain at least one unused page.
It is imperative that travellers confirm the latest entry regulations with their nearest South African embassy or consulate.

Tick Number 5 – Temporary Import or Export Permit (this applies when hunting in South Africa).
Complete the entire section from 1 through 25.4.
Sections 25.1 to 25.4 must be completed even if you are travelling alone, as these details are required for an emergency contact (spouse / partner / contact person).
Complete the section from 1 through 9.2.
IMPORTANT: The date format must be YYYY-MM-DD.
Complete all requested details about firearms and ammunition.
This is not necessary if the barrel is solidly connected to the receiver (as with most bolt-action rifles) and the receiver already has a serial number.
The barrel has a different serial number, or
There is no serial number on the receiver and the only serial number is located on the barrel (as with some custom bolt-action rifles).
Complete sections 3 through 4.4.

Section 4.4 – Fill in the Place where the document is signed

Your spouse’s passport number if married (please include this on the SAPS form even if travelling alone)

Clear customs and passport control.
Proceed to the luggage carousel and collect your baggage.
Look for the security desk and inform them you need to sign for your firearms.
After signing for your firearms, proceed through to the international arrivals hall.
An Intrepid Safaris representative will meet you there and accompany you to the SAPS firearm office where you will finalize the permit and collect your firearm.
Any automatic or semi-automatic rifles or shotguns
